Ashton Welcome lived during the 1890's and was owned by M.A. Wells of Birmingham, England. This engraving of her is from the magazine The British Fancier.
Floreat Etona
This is Floreat Etona, a black and white whippet owned by M. A. W. Brown of Eton, England during the 1890's. This photograph is from DeBylant's Dogs of All Nations, dated 1897.

Here is an interesting engraving of Whippets coursing. Click on this image to see the larger picture and note the dog's owners enthusiastically waving rags to encourage their dogs to run faster. Another intriguing element of this picture is the judge, who is standing in a hole in a ground sighting across the finish line to determine the winner.
